FAQS

+ What’s the difference between Melbrow’s Mist Brow and Microblading?

Microblading is a form of semi-permanent tattooing that involves using a small disposable blade and handle that helps scratch and deposit pigment simultaneously under your skin to mimic hair strokes.

Mel’s Mist brow is also a form of semi-permanent tattooing that involves micro needles and manual hand held tool that help deposit pigments that give a soft and natural airbrushed make up look.

+ Why choose Melbrow’s Mist Brow?

  • Suitable for all skin types - Clients with oily or sensitive skin will be able to do this procedure. Compared to Microblading, the pigments will last better with the Mist Brow technique. In time, Mist Brow lighten as a whole and will not be patchy.
  • Less abrasive on skin - Healing time is faster as this method involves gentle poking that do not really cause the skin to bleed. There may be some mild skin peeling 3-4 days after the treatment. Some clients do not peel at all. Unlike microblading that cause the skin to etch, bleed and scab which means longer downtime.
  • Easy aftercare - Your brows could touch water 2 hours after treatment, therefore you could wash your face or take a shower as per normal without worrying about the brows getting wet. I will give you an ointment to speed up healing process.
  • Don't worry about having crazy dark brows after the treatment - You could return to work or back to your routine as per normal looking fabulous. The brows will not be too dark as this technique is a gradual process. You will need to come back in 4-6 weeks for a follow up touch up to add in more pigments to perfect it.

+ How long does Mist Brow last?

It lasts a year to two years depending on individual's skin. If you have oilier skin, then it may lighten faster.

+ How long is the procedure?

For new clients, I usually put three hours per appointment. Three hours may sound long but I prefer not to rush the process as my aim is to get the best brow on you. During the first hour, I usually take time to design brows that best suit your face and personality. Then I will put numbing cream for about 15-20 mins and then finally start the Mist Brow process.

+ Is it painful?

This depends on each person's pain threshold. I use good numbing cream and therefore, the pain is minimal and bearable. Some clients could even fall asleep during the process!

+ Is your of ink good quality?

The ingredients are a combination of pigments, glycerin, witch hazel, aqua, rosin, benzyl alcohol, and isopropyl alcohol. Pigments are gamma ray sterilized, vegan and also cruelty-free.

+ Who is not suitable for Mist Brow?

  • Pregnant women
  • If you are on Accutane
  • Sunburnt Skin
  • Skin recently had laser or cosmetic treatment

  • Do not drink alcohol the night before treatment.
  • Do not tan or have intense sun exposure 7 days before treatment.
  • No chemical peels, laser or any intense facial treatments 1 week before treatment.
